Game Description:
“Back in the earliest days, there was no sun and the world was dark. The heavens opened up and stars fell like beacons into the pitch black world, and they were known as “Embers”. Powerful and wise druids of a primordial race, “the Lightbringers,” roamed the land searching for this luminous matter. They performed a ritual of awakening to call the “Embers” out of their deep sleep. Suddenly the world became bright, and the veil of darkness was lifted. The Embers were the embodiment of magical flame, light, and life, but as word spread about the sheer power of the Embers, they came to be hunted and captured…and so the War for Ember began…”

No gender election? character creator?
$0.99 on Steam, worth it in 2020?
Thiefs ?
I wish there was a game like this to play with people
I just bought this on Steam for $2.49 just now because of the first 13 minutes of this video. Looks interesting.
Really good video, made it very clear i need to buy and play the game.

I may get this game this week via Steam as it's on sale and I have been looking to get back into something basic re: PC RPG. (I also bought Grey Goo b/c I enjoy RTS games too). Thanks for the upload, KB.
Hub and gameplay of an online game for a solo game.. thats kinda sad.
If I liked sword coast legends will I like this
the voice is annoying…
The guy calls himself a 'monk' is listed as 'Fighter' in the character sheet…. wow, breeaking immersion in the few first minutes. Quite the 'RPG'. That's a pass for me.
I had trouble with the fourth wall. All I could hear was the hilarious Cate Blanchett pastiche in the prologue, being drowned out by overloud motiveless music. Talk talk talk. Yeah… nah.
Fussy bastard, aint I?
Has anyone found keys or other ways to open the locked doors in the beginning dungeon areas?
Maybe don't start your video game with a shit-ton of exposition?
Keith, can you tell me if this game has a character creator? I can't find information on this either way.
People need to realize that this game was a side project from a small and relatively unknown company called N-Fusion Interactive that took them 10 years to make. It came out like 3 days ago on steam for 10 bucks, at a 15% discount. I got it and yeah, it is fairly simplistic compared to some of the more revolutionary RPG's, but it is an RPG, not a hack'nslash. And I've played worse games that cost four times as much as this does. It's definitely worth the price, and, IMO, more than what they ask for.
The story won't win any awards, but it's got a much better story than many other games. And I've heard some people complain about them streamlining you into the role as a Lightbringer, which I think is slightly hilarious seeing as how they do the same exact thing in Pillars of Eternity and BG. The story is (fairly) original, the combat system is fun without being overly complex, crafting is not only useful but easy, without being a chore, and the characters you encounter actually have character, with their own personalities, quirks, and history.
All in all I'd give it a 9.5/10, when you take into account it launched at TEN FUCKING BUCKS. I mean, come on. Ten bucks. What is there to lose?
it look like it is from 2000
Is the combat like KotOR?
This is a good game, the history is captivating, but gosh, I've spent most of the game time reading books so far.
What the hell, so you're a hero who's finally passed on, what do they do? OH LETS REZ HIM LOL, not like he's earned some peace and quiet. So rude and selfish.
Also getting Dark Souls vives "So it is that ash seeketh Embers" Fading embers, undead lightbringer etc.
Reminds me of phazon
My first reaction on seeing rats running around is to try to go up and talk to it. Divinity Original sin has spoiled me
outdated graphics? got it
generic gameplay? got it
generic rpg elements? got it
generic item names? got it
10/10 completely 2016 quality game
You sound just like Maximillian Dood!
Shouldn't you have given the book to the angry goblin? Feels like a quest.
